In 2002 hat Greg Glassman in 100 Wörtern definiert, was Fitness aus der Sicht von CrossFit bedeutet:
„Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.“ ~Greg Glassman
Der letzte Satz ist aus unserer Sicht sehr entscheidend. Warum macht ihr CrossFit? Ja – es macht Spaß, ABER vor allem macht man CrossFit auch um in anderen Bereichen des Lebens besser zu sein. Am Ende des Tages ist es zwar schön sich im Gewichtheben oder Workouts zu verbessern, aber was dann richtig Spaß macht ist dieses gesteigerte Fitnesslevel auf andere Sportarten zu übertragen. Sei es bei Firmenläufen, im Kletterpark, beim Fußball mit Freunden oder bei „Obstacle Runs“ wie unsere Anja.
Also geht raus und nutzt Eure neue Fitness! Ihr werdet sehen, dass ihr viel leistungsfähiger seid – als vor CrossFit! Der nette Nebeneffekt wird sein, dass Euch diese Erfahrung dann noch zusätzlich motiviert in die Box zu kommen.
